US Ambassador to Azerbaijan visits occupied Shushi

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated this in an interview to Euronews, noting that "there were much more Azerbaijanis in Armenia than Armenians in Azerbaijan - almost 300,000."

ArmInfo.The World Bank announced today that Armenia has been selected to receive a new grant  from the State and Peacebuilding Umbrella Trust Fund to support the mental health and wellbeing of displaced children and adolescents from Nagorno-Karabakh region in over 200 schools across the country.   This was reported in a press release from the World Bank.

ArmInfo. France has announced that it will provide additional aid to refugees from Nagorno Karabakh. As stated  in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, the amount of assistance will be 15 million euros.

ArmInfo. Moscow welcomes the meeting of representatives of the commission on the delimitation of  the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, held on November 30. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated on December 6 during a weekly briefing.  She stated that during this  meeting the parties agreed on methodological and organizational issues in preparation for the launch of practical work on delimitation.

ArmInfo. Azerbaijan's military intervention forced 150 thousand people to flee their homes  in the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict zone. This fact was recorded by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, in his speech at the 25th EU- NGO Forum for Human Rights.

ArmInfo. On December 4, 2024, CHW released its sixth Monitoring Report, its first since the expulsion of over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023. The report details impacts to cultural heritage in the region, documenting the devastating toll that new construction in Shusha/Shushi is causing to Armenian sites and the significant vulnerability of historic Armenian cemeteries in the region. In all, the report documents damage to 4 sites and new threats to 3 more.

ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani authorities intend to "Albanize" another Armenian religious site -  this time the Armenian Church of Surb Harutyun in occupied Hadrut.

The "Armenia" opposition faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia proposes to approve the draft statement of parliament regarding the proposal presented by the Hayaqve initiative on the criminalization of the refusal of self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh and the belittlement of the Armenian Genocide. This was stated by faction secretary Artsvik Minasyan at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on December 4.

ArmInfo. From September 25 to November 26, 10,929 forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh  left Armenia, of which 4,303 returned to the Republic of Armenia, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia stated in response to an inquiry by ArmInfo.
