Urmas Paet, member of European Parliament (Estonia) believes Armenia aligned with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) under pressure of Moscow.
Speaking at the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan, on March 18, Paet said Armenia was among the first countries to join the EU's Eastern Partnership Project. "What happened next? On beautiful day - on September 3 2013 - the president declared that Armenia could initial the Association Agreement with the EU, since it was going to access the Customs Union. I think it is evident and Armenia is also well aware why it made such choice," Paet said.
He believes that the EU should exert every possible effort to ensure that its Eastern partners are free in their decisions and actions.
