The list of those who seek to buy the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) is getting bigger, Zhamanak ("Time") newspaper says, citing sources close to the Armenian authorities.
The newspaper says that the matter concerns quite serious contenders, who are ready to buy the ENA from Inter RAO UES (Russia). "According to our source, companies with US and European capital show interest in the ENA, however, the Armenian authorities cannot take any decision as long as the ENA belongs to Inter RAO UES," Zhamanak says.
Meanwhile, Inter RAO UES refutes the reports on the negotiations for sale of the ENA. "We are not holding any negotiations at the moment," the company's official representative has told Interfax. Inter RAO says that the Board of Directors will meet on July 10 to discuss its participation or termination of its participation in other organizations, as well as to approve possible deals. The company specified that the matter does not concern the ENA.
