 Yerevan Brandy Factory (YBC) introduced the legendary brandy "Armenia" this April.  A presentation and tasting ceremony was held in the area of the YBC on April 14. Recreated on the recipe of master-blender Margar Sedrakyan, "Armenia" brandy is one of the Master's flagship blends. 

Born in Van, Margar Sedrakyan survived Genocide of Armenians. He dedicated over 40 years of his life (1932-1973) to Armenian brandy making. He created such flagship brandies as "Dvin," "Akhtamar," and "Nairi."  Hero of the Socialist Labor and Master-blender Margar Sedrakyan received the prestigious French Chevalier du Degustation title.  
"Armenia" 10 year-old brandy was created in 1940. Today, after 75 years, thanks to the delicate workmanship of its masters, the Yerevan Brandy Company presents revival of "Armenia" as a peculiar tribute to the all-time Master Margar Sedrakyan.

"Armenia" brandy will be presented in the ARARAT exclusive collection and will have nearly 10 years fo additional maturity. The bottle and label will resemble once legendary "Armenia."  

Yerevan Brandy Company - the exclusive producer of ARARAT Brandies - is the direct successor of Armenian brandy-making traditions, established in1887. Yerevan Brandy Company is the biggest taxpayer of the field and the biggest grape buyer in Armenia. In 1999 Yerevan Brandy Company joined the Pernod Ricard Group, the world co-leader of the Wine & Spirits industry, which unites such brands as Chivas, Absolut, Martell, Jameson and others.   Yerevan Brandy Company along with the headquarters in Yerevan has three branches located in the different regions of Armenia (Ararat, Armavir and Tavoush). The company is carrying out the whole chain of Armenian ARARAT Brandy production. 

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, brandy production in Armenia for 2014 totaled 18.7 million liters (8.1% decline in 2014), versus 20.3 million liters in 2013 (up 9.6%). Alcohol production in Armenia totaled 123.3 billion drams (down 3.1% in 2014) versus 125.7 bln drams (up 17.9% in 2013) .
