The
changing geopolitical realities - turbulence in the Middle East, the Ukrainian
crisis, the growing tension in Russia-West relations - predict the threat of a
new cold war. This means that Armenia will have to live in harder conditions,
Samvel Farmanyan, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia, Co-Chairman of the
Commission for Armenia-EU Cooperation, said in Armenian Parliament on
Tuesday.
According to Farmanyan, history has repeatedly proved
that escalation of tension in the West-Russia relations does not meet Armenia's
interests, because Armenia may find itself at the juncture of the superpowers. "In
this context, I urge the political forces to stop dividing the Armenian society
into pro-Russian and pro-Western groups", said Farmanyan.
