Armenian nation should not so strongly react to each senseless statement made by the Azerbaijani authorities; MP of the National Assembly representing Heritage Party Tevan Poghosyan is assured.
"Our diplomats should ensure that Azerbaijani people wait for the Armenian side's statements and not the reverse. We should not afraid of being independent", Poghosyan stated touching upon the recent statement made by Novruz Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Azerbaijani President's Administration, that the sides have agreed on return of territories under control of Nagorno- Karabakh. Poghosyan stressed that the Artsakh side is not ready to make territorial concessions and added that President Serzh Sargsyan left for Nagorno Karabakh immediately after meeting in Saint Petersburg. According to Poghosyan the goal of the president's visit was to deliver new information reached during the three-sided negotiations. According to him the conditions, which are now beneficial for Azerbaijan, were set in Kazan document, from which Azerbaijani side refused during the negotiations in 2011.
To note, Novruz Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Azerbaijani President's Administration, said in an interview with ANS that during the meeting in St. Petersburg, the parties agreed to settle the Karabakh conflict stage by stage. "The preference was given to stage-by-stage settlement of the conflict. That is to say, the conflict should be resolved stage by stage: first, the troops should be withdrawn from five districts; second, the troops should be withdrawn from two more districts and the corridor should be defined. Then Nagorno- Karabakh's status should be determined," Mammadov says. The Armenian side has refuted this information.
