Rosneft's investment program is the result of a thorough analysis of Nairit Plant's investment capacities, Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told journalists on Wednesday.
"We have thoroughly analyzed the plant's capacities so as to see if it can be modernized and what technology will be better for it – butadiene or acetylene. We did it jointly with Jacobs, and Rosneft has found an optimum there," Sargsyan said.
In late Dec 2013 Rosneft, Pirelli Tyre Armenia and Rosneft-Armenia signed a memorandum to set up a butadiene-styrene joint venture rubber. On Feb 24 Rosneft said that it is planning to invest $500mln in Nairit.
