"Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) CJSC has quitted discrimination against the consumers, Artak Shaboyan, Chairman of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, said at today's session of the Parliament when replying to MP Khachatur Kokobelyan's question.
He recalled that last year the company was brought to account (20 mln AMD penalty was imposed on it). He also pointed out that the body regulating the issues in the field of electric power engineering is the Public Services Regulatory Commission, but the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition can also be engaged in the process if it receives complaints from the consumers. "ENA" CJSC has quitted the discrimination against the consumers and for the moment being it meets all the requirements of the Commission.
To recall, in May 2014 the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition imposed a 20 mln AMD penalty on "ENA" CJSC for its failure to connect the subscribers of 1/3, Tsitsernakaberd Highway, Yerevan, to the network.
"ENA" CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of Inter RAO UES OJSC with an exclusive license for transmission and distribution of electric power in the territory of Armenia. The company serves over 967,000 consumers and has 7,800 employees.
