"South Caucasus Railway" (UKZHD) is to enter the Armenian and Georgian tourist markets. The CJSC is to present innovation products - tours with the use of railway transport. In Tour Expo 2015 was launched today at Yerevan Expo Center where UKZHD presented its new service under a pavilion on the order of a railcar - the highlight of the new service.    

Head of UKZHD International Department Aleksandr Boiko has told ArmInfo that, as it is said, railway tours are "everything new is actually well-forgotten old." According to him, the development of railway tour services in the region pursues the following objectives - improvement of the company's operating activities' efficiency, provision of subsidiary earnings by developing passenger traffic, provision of public information for the two countries, as well as the engagement of Russian and international tourists and the introduction of the Armenian and Georgian rich countries' historical-cultural heritage to them.    

Boiko said that UKZHD presented that new innovation assuming that the company could provide quite high-level services.  "Within the framework of the "Council on Railway Transport of CIS Member- Countries" our rolling equipment and service have been highly qualified by relevant certificates. Therefore, we have a lot to offer to guests who choose UKZHD tours", he said. 

Touring in South Caucasus is becoming more and more popular, thus UKZHD is not willing to remain uninvolved in these processes. UKZHD is determined to closely cooperate with RZD Tour agency for the engagement of Russian tourists.  

UKZHD offers one and three-day tours from Armenia to Georgia and backwards. The offers include hotels with three meals and sightseeing. The price for the tour package is 65-70 USD per day.                                                     CJSC "South Caucasian Railway" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways" and provides concession management of Armenian railroads.  CJSC "Armenian Railways" was referred to the concession management to the company "SCR" according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with possible extension for another 10 years.
