Ara Abrahamyan, President of the World Armenian Congress (WAC) and the Union of Armenians of Russia, intends to establish his own party and run for Parliament of Armenia in 2017, Abrahamyan said at the fifth session of the WAC in Moscow.
Abrahamyan explained his decision with a desire to make his contribution to the development of Armenia.

He said that more than 100 experts work on the establishment of the Party program that among others will boost the Armenian-Russia interaction.
Abrahamyan said that consultations over his participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections will be held in Russia, Armenia and other countries having big Armenian communities until March 2016. Reportedly, Abrahamyan is cooperating with Orinats Yerkir Party led by Arthur Baghdasaryan. According to the same reports, Abrahamyan seeks the prime minister's post in Armenia.
