Ethnic Armenians from Javakhq are in a queue for Russian passports at the former Embassy of Russia, more precisely, at the functioning Consulate, in Tbilisi, claims Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president of Georgia, according to Georgia-Online.
"Most of the ethnic Armenian population of Georgia has already been provided with Russian passports. They distributed passports like vouchers," Gamsakhurdia told Newpost, refusing to name the people he was informed by.
"I don't think that Russia has involved Switzerland, the mediator between Russia and Georgia, in such a delicate and important issue. I received information on distribution of Russian passports from specific persons I cannot name. By the way, I raised that issue a few days ago, but it was neglected. As far as I know, our special services have been studying the given issue for a long time already," Gamsakhurdia said.
