The Special Investigation Service of Armenia has instituted a criminal case against Deputy Head of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan, Spokesperson for the Special Investigation Service Mikayel Aharonyan has told ArmInfo's correspondent.
Aharonyan has refused to specify other details for legal reasons. In the meantime, some media report that the criminal case is connected with Radio Liberty's publication saying that Osipyan was trying to bribe citizen Susanna Hovhannisyan so that the latter could persuade her son to take the blame upon himself for the knife fight initiated by Osipyan's nephew on June 2 night. Vanush Alexanyan, 22, was hospitalized as a result of the knife fight.
To note, Osipyan was actively advocated observing the law during the civil actions of protests.
