 In every fourth family of Armenia, fathers had to leave Armenia for other countries to earn living, Head of the Sociometer Center Aharon Adibekyan has told ArmInfo.     

"The negative result of it is that about 300,000 children in the republic grow without their fathers. Their upbringing process is not full, as a result. As a rule, sons try to resemble their fathers and daughters seek to find husbands who look like their fathers. But no such ideals are formed now. What will come of it will be clear in a quarter of a century", he says. 

The export points out one more problem in Armenia. 

"The problem is that people do not come to Armenia to work, study, etc. This demonstrates the economic lameness of the nation," Adibekyan says.     

"At the same time, Armenia has a growth potential, which should be used. However, this needs big funds.  If nearly $150 bln is invested in Armenia's economy within the next 10 years and big plants and factories are built in the country, we will become a prosperous nation," he notes.     

According to the UN forecasts, in 2100 the population of Armenia will be about 1.8 mln people. Experts say that the shrinkage of the population will be due to migration, reduction of the birth rate, growth of the death rate and other factors. 

To note, the major part of interstate migrants from Armenia heads for Russia. According to a poll conducted by Sociometer in 2014, 43.3% of Armenia's citizens are potential migrants. The migrant sentiments are the strongest in Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Shirak, Vayots Dzor and Ararat provinces of Armenia.
