Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan who was on a working visit to Shirak region said at least 30% of the local population will vote "for" the constitutional amendments.
"We work efficiently, campaign, inform the people of the amendments so that they could make their views and attend the voting. It is important to raise the public awareness of the amendments. If the people vote 'against,' we will reconcile to it," he said.
As for the opposition's statements that the amendments will help the incumbent regime retain power, the prime minister said the opposition always says the same, while the draft amendments do not give such opportunity.
In response to the media report saying that the government uses administrative resource in Shirak region, Hovik Abrahamyan urged all the organizations and agencies to observe the law. As for the rumors that the supporters of the Constitutional amendments threaten the residents of the Shirak region to stop all the programs implemented in the region, unless they vote "for" the amendments, the prime minister said all the programs envisaged for Shirak region and particularly in Gyumri will be implemented.
