In the near future there will be no changes in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told journalists on Friday.
He said that the talks will be continued, the co-chairs will keep visiting the region and making statements, the incidents on the contact line will not stop. "The only thing the co-chairs will try to do is to preserve the existing format as it is good for all the parties. It is not a surprise that the co-chairs make balanced statements even though it is only the Azeris who break the cease-fire regime. Their mission is to keep things in balance rather than to speak the truth," Iskandaryan said.
He said that now that the incident rate on the contact line is growing, the peace process is facing a crisis. "But this will hardly lead to a new war. I see no prerequisites for this," Iskandaryan said.
