In 2014 Armenia will get super-precision and long-range guided missile systems, Armenia's Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at today's press-conference.
To recall, Armenian and Russian mass media informed that Armenia received and is going to place Russian "Iskander-M" systems in the country.
Ohanyan said that the process of creation of a single Armenian-Russian air defence system will be completed soon. "We have been jointly working in several directions and sharing information with our Russian counterparts. We also have a single air defence command post. I think that we shall be able to upgrade the system in the near future", - he said.
The minister recalled that close military and technical cooperation between Armenia and Russia has started since 2010 when defence ministers of both countries made a relevant agreement. He also added that Russia made commitments to ensure security of the whole territory of Armenia. Further enhancing of the military and technical cooperation and purchasing of new armament for discount price is the key component of the above-mentioned agreement.
To recall, when visiting Yerevan on 2 December, President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that Armenia will be able to buy Russian armament for the local Russian price.
