The Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection is again refuting the rumors about the use of Sevan water for restoration of Lake Urmia on Iran.
The Mehr news agency (Iran) reports that the restoration of Lake Urmia implies import of water from Armenia and Georgia in exchange for gas and oil. Mehr quotes MP Ali Alilu as saying that the Sevan (Armenia) and the Kura (Georgia) will be able to supply the Urmia with water.
Tehmina Arzumanyan, Spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection, has told ArmInfo that the news has nothing to do with the reality. "The rumors about the use of the Sevan water have previously been refuted officially by both sides. There is no document on provision of the Sevan water for restoration of Lake Urmia," she stresses.
