For the last period of time, Baku does not like proposals voiced by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan said at today's joint press-conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Yerevan.
"Baku does not like specific proposals. The Azerbaijani side has not welcomed the statements made by co-chairs, including on such issues as strengthening of ceasefire regime, removal of snipers, creation of mechanisms to investigate incidents along the line of contact," he said.
He said that while visiting the region, President of France Francois Hollande presented a rather specific initiative to host the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Paris.
Nalbandyan said there is simply no alternative to the proposals voiced by the OSCE MG co-chairmen and targeted only at peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
For his part, Minister Lavrov said Russia is supporting any efforts that will bring the settlement closer. "We believe that the French partners are putting forward the ideas that enable to make practical the previously proposed principles. Russia believes that the more regular meetings are, the greater momentum the peace process will have," Lavrov said.
