We can draw no direct parallels between Armenia and Ukraine, as civil wars are inadmissible for our country considering the external threats it is facing, Ashot Manucharyan, a member of the Karabakh Committee told reporters, Friday.
He said that our two people have one thing in common i.e. both them no longer can bear the criminal regime. Meanwhile, the protest of the Ukrainians has been used by superpowers to weaken Russia's position in the region. He said that deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine may lead Russia to collapse.
As for Crimea, Manucharyan said that Ukraine must not disintegrate. "Although "the Right forces" have not taken any specific steps against the Russians residing in Crimea, their philosophy may grow into actions at any moment. Therefore, Russia has protected its people beforehand," he said.
Asked about the further domestic political processes in Armenia, Manucharyan said that Levon Ter- Petrosyan's latest statement on consolidation of non-governmental forces was nothing but an open call for the Karabakh clan to leave peacefully.
"In 2003 similar negotiations were held secretly, while now the fight will be peaceful and through consolidation of the public," he said.
