The non-power parliamentary forces should be guided by the statements of Heritage Faction Head Ruben Hakobyan rather than Heritage Party Leader Raffi Hovannisian, Lyudmila Sargsyan, MP from the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), said when commenting on Hovannisian's Nov 21 decision to hold a "civic assembly" in Liberty Square on December 5 without the other non-power forces.
Sargsyan thinks it is bad that the Heritage leader is making statements differing from the general line of the three non-power forces of the Parliament (Heritage, ANC, Prosperous Armenia). Moreover, it is extremely hard to understand who expresses the stand of Heritage as a political force. "Perhaps, we should be guided by what Heritage Faction Head Ruben Hakobyan says, because in the long run the union of the non-power forces is an alliance of parliamentary factions, first of all. Hakobyan makes constructive statements.
Probably, Heritage faces some discrepancies now. I can't say unambiguously. But I would not qualify Hovannisian's statements as a sign of a split in the non-power alliance. After all, each force's leader has the right to bring something new to the political fight", she said.
