From November 27, 8 pm till November 28, 8 am, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund's 17th Telethon raised 12,399,550 US dollars.
Diaspora Armenians' donations totaled about USD 3.3 million. Vallex Group donated USD 1 million, Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine - USD 500 thsd. It is noteworthy that the donations from abroad were mostly done by individuals whereas the donations from Armenia were chiefly done by state institutions such as hospitals, schools, municipalities, and higher education establishments.
The funds raised will be spent on development of Tavush marz of Armenia, construction of community centers in Artsakh, support to Syrian Armenians, completion of construction of the Vardenis-Martakert highway, which is 116 km long and links Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh.
To note, last year's Telethon raised 22.66 million US dollars, with the major part of the funds transferred from Russia (USD 12.35 million).
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund was founded in 1992. Its key goal is to implement nation-wide projects. Over the past 21 years the Fund implemented projects on development of Armenia and Artsakh worth almost USD 236 million.
