No final decision on new Prime Minister has been passed yet, the leader of the parliamentary group of the Republican Party of Armenia Galust Sahakyan said in an interview to azaturyun.am.
He said that the decision may be passed during the Apr 10 meeting of the party's Supreme Body. "The new Prime Minister must be able to work with different political forces and to continue the reforms," Sahakyan said.
He said that the candidature of Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan is quite acceptable as he is good at finding compromise solutions.
Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan resigned on Apr 3 without clear explanations. President Serzh Sargsyan is now supposed to appoint new PM within 10 days. Among the possible candidates are Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrayhamyan, Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Head of the President's Staff Vigen Sargsyan. Some RPA leader said that the new Premier may well represent another party.
