The Armenian Parliament considered on Tuesday the initiative to form an interim committee for inquiring into the sale of the plant, its economic inefficiency and inability to repay its debts.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Artsvik Minasyan said that the committee is supposed to help to decide the future of the company.
"Earlier the Government promised to do its best to restart Nairit but has not yet done anything to this end. On the contrary, it is deliberately pushing the company towards bankruptcy, so, it has no chances for rescue," Minasyan said.
The leader of the parliamentary group of Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan asked Minasyan what the brother of the Armenian Prime Minister has to do with the company's bankruptcy. Minasyan said that all he knows is that he was the company's deputy CEO.
