Head of the Republican Party of Armenia Faction in the Parliament will be appointed as Speaker of the Parliament, a local Hraparak newspaper writes.
According to the source, it will be a temporary appointment, as the authorities are going to launch new political processes in September, make the Cabinet reshuffles, and hold snap elections.
The paper writes that after resignation of Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan, the authorities began studying two possible candidates for his position: Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Science, and Karen Karapetyan, ex-head of the President's Staff. "Although Karapetyan refused the take the post of the NSC Secretary, he will be appointed to that position anyway," the paper writes.
