HSBC Bank Armenia launched a new service - Mobile Banking App on 28 November. This service is available in over 25 countries where HSBC Holding is present. Global Finance recognized HSBC Bank's Mobile Banking App as "Best Mobile Banking App" in 2014. Today, HSBC Customers in Armenia also have an opportunity to use that service to have a 24/7 access to their bank accounts from anywhere globally, to view balances and transactions, to open time deposit accounts, to make card-to-card transfers to local and overseas beneficiaries etc. Users can also receive and send secure messages and view the bank's services and products.
Thies Clemenz, HSBC CEO, says the Mobile Banking App is a prompt and comfortable method to make bank transactions on the go. Introduction of this App in the Armenian market is a very important event for the Bank. The App includes a full user interface with all the methods of bank account management and customer support, Clemenz says. According to him, the App enables the Bank's customers to use all the services that are provided via branches, telephone center and Internet to chose the most comfortable and secure method of personal finance management. Thies Clemenz says the service is available for both private and corporate customers. With help of HSBCnet Mobile, the customers can take advantage of a powerful range of HSBCnet services through the convenience of their iOS and Android devices. The App is a new investment in digital technologies and a good opportunity for customers to manage their funds in line with international security standards, says HSBC CEO Thies Clemenz.
According to the Financial Rating of Armenian Banks prepared by ArmInfo, HSBC Bank Armenia assets amounted to 261.3 bln drams as of 1 October 2014 and the Bank retained its position among Top Five Banks with a 14.7% year-over-year growth and 6.4% growth for Q3 2014. The Bank's total capital on the given date amounted to 46.8 bln drams with a 13.6% y-o-y growth and 5.1% growth for Q3 2014 (3rd rank). The bank's loans exceeded 194 bln drams on Oct 1 2014 with a 37.1% y-o-y growth and an 8% growth for Q3 2014 (among Top Five Banks). HSBC Bank Armenia retains its leadership position in terns of net profits - 5.6 bln drams for 9 months of 2014 and 2.2 bln drams for Q3 2014. As compared to Q2 2014, net profits grew 42%. The Bank's branch network is concentrated in Yerevan - 9 branches. The number of private and corporate customers totals 37,000.
The shareholders of the Bank are HSBC Europe B.V. (70%) and Wings Establishment (30%).
