The officials of Armenia and Azerbaijan have spent the past few days on the frontlines of the Armenian-Azeri border and along the Contact of Line of the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
Governor of Vayots Dzor Edgar Ghazaryan spent the Aug 5 night on the frontline, and the NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan spent the Aug 4 night there.
Earlier, Governor of Syunik region Vahe Hakobyan, Vice Speaker of Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov visited the frontlines. Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan visits the borderline settlements of Tavush region almost every day.
Death toll rises on both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides as clashes grow on the Line of Contact. Azerbaijan has made several sabotage attacks lately. Both the sides suffered casualties. Azerbaijan lost 27 soldiers. There were 6 deaths on the Armenian side. The U.S. Department of State, Russian Foreign Ministry, French Foreign Ministry, OSCE CiO as well as OSCE Minsk Group Co- Chairs, EU and many countries have expressed deep concern over escalating tensions and urged the parties to respect the ceasefire agreement and take steps to defuse tension.
