Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian told reporters while visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial today, on April 24, that the results of the talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov were made public at a joint news conference and there are no secrets about the matter. "There is no 'Lavrov package of the Karabakh settlement' unlike media reports. The Russian minister did not bring any proposals with him. He said this too. Lavrov personally said that it is necessary to work towards introduction of mechanisms of inquiring into incidents, strengthening of confidence-building measures and upgrading security in the region to create more favorable conditions for the negotiation process," Nalbandian said. At the same time, he said, Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression earlier this month has greatly damaged the negotiations. "It is necessary to combine efforts with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the world community to overcome the damage caused to the negotiations. It is very difficult, since there are casualties and it is an irrecoverable loss. Today the world community works to bring Azerbaijan to order and to the constructive field, so that it is possible to continue the negotiations, since there is no alternative to it," Nalbandian said. Earlier prior to Lavorv's visit to Yerevan, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said the Russian minister would travel to Armenia with certain groundwork.
