The Armenian government attaches importance to involvement of civil society in implementation of projects implemented within EU initiatives and in the process of reforms in various fields conducted by the both sides, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Karen Nazaryan stated at the "Current Stage of Armenia-EU Relations and Mechanisms for Civil Society's Participation", held today in Yerevan, the press-service of the ministry informs.
According to him the civil society has great role in stimulating Armenia-EU relations, particularly in raising the awareness about the European values, contacts between the people, multi-sectoral exchanges and strengthening of ties.
Nazaryan presented the recent processes in relations between Yerevan and Brussels, results of political contacts, touched upon the problems of bilateral cooperation with the EU member countries and presented the sides' stands and assessments of the regional issues.
The Deputy Minister touched upon the process of revision of EU neighborhood policy and hailed this process. Nazaryan also touched upon the negotiations around the new legal framework agreement between Armenia and the EU, cooperation on parliamentary level and EU's stand on Nagorno-Karabakh's settlement. To note, the conference was organized by the EU Delegation to Armenia and the Armenian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Civil Society Forum (CSF).
