In response to AmrInfo's question on Western geopolitics American analyst Gordon Hahn said that the deepening of competition between Russia and West and in the Southern Caucasus would be quite likely in case of the escalation of a new "cold war".
"This is already happening given NATO's extension of its "Atlantic Resolve" operation up to Georgia and the nearby Black Sea region. The pipeline war will intensify for there are still problems between Russia and Ukraine and the EU is determined to become independent of Russian energy products", believes the analyst.
In his estimation, Russian "Turkish Flow" project speaks of Russia's preference of the Southern Caucasus as an energy product transfer route. He believes Moscow's "court" towards Yerevan speaks of the region's increasing geopolitization. Hahn believes quite possible the scenario in which the drawing card would become USA's attention towards Baku as a versus to the Armenia-Russian axis.
