The Armavir investigation department of the Investigation Committee of Armenia has instituted a criminal case over the explosion at a gas-filling station in Zvartnots village, the Committee's press office has told ArmInfo.
The criminal case has been instituted over the measures that failed to meet the safety rules.
To recall, three people were injured as fire broke out at a gas-filling station in the village of Zvartnots, Armavir region, today, on May 26. The Volkswagen 34 QF 306 parked not far from the station caught fire. The car belongs to the brother of Hakob Hakobyan (aka Choyt), ex-parliamentarian. The owner of the car and Hakobyan's son were near the car when the fire broke out. Both of them and the employee of the gas-filling station were hospitalized with burns. They are now at the reanimation department of the Armenia Medical Center in Yerevan, the Center told ArmInfo. Hakobyans are in grave conditions, while the employee of the station got light burns.
The gas-filling station belongs to Hakob Hakobyan. Earlier in February Hakobyan was arrested for financial fraud and was set free a month ago. It is not known yet whether the exposition was an accident or it was a deliberated act. ArmInfo has not contacted Hakob Hakobyan yet.
