The opposition's charges against me are a lie, Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told journalists on Wednesday when asked to comment on the situation over Niarit Plant.
He said that the Government approved the contract with China in 2000. The negotiations started in 1999, the contract was signed in 2002, while the process line was taken to China in 2005. "So, it is clear that I could not be part of those processes. As to my brother, Armen Sargsyan, he was a military attache in the United States at that time and was appointed as Ambassador to China in 2008. So, you may see that the opposition is mistaken," Sargsyan said.
He supports the idea to create a committee on Nairit. "I think that as soon as the talks with Rosneft are over and we have a clear idea how much money will be invested, we will ask the Parliament to set up such a structure," the PM said.
