Dictator Aliyev's attempts to teach Bundestag lawmakers are simply silly, says Armenian Parliament Vice Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov. 
"President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev claims that the resolution passed by Bundestag is a provocation based on lie and that Baku rejects it. It turns out that the leader of an authoritarian state, the dictator Aliyev, blames lawmakers of a democratic state for lie and provocations. By such statements, Aliyev has driven himself to an absurd situation ahead of his planned visit to Germany," Sharmazanov told ArmInfo.  He said that during his meeting with the Turkish prime minister, Aliyev said Azerbaijan had faced Germany's biased policy previously when "on June 12 2015, the parliament of Germany passed an unfair resolution based on lie against his country" saying the Azerbaijani violates human rights. Sharmazanov believes that Aliyev is taking advantage of the opportunity to express his discontent at Germany.
"It is silly when officials of two authoritarian countries - Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev - speak of democracy.  It is the same as if Stalin and Hitler spoke about democracy. I think, the German friendly people will understand us and see the real face of Armenia's neighbors," the vice speaker said. 
Addressing the Turkish prime minister's statement saying, "Azerbaijan's friend is our friend, Azerbaijan's enemy is our enemy,"  Sharmazanov said this statement once again proves that Baku and Ankara pursue one official ideology - Pan-Turkism. 
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the Friday press conference with the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in Baku that Azerbaijan condemns the German parliament's "unfair and biased resolution, which is based on the historical lie." Ilham Aliyev noted that this is injustice, a manifestation of double standards and distortion of history.  "We can't stand it. Our diaspora organizations are instructed to act in coordination with Turkish diaspora organizations.  We should demonstrate solidarity in the region and the world," APA quotes Aliyev as saying. The Azerbaijani president stressed that the Bundestag's resolution is a political order.  "It has political sides. They probably want to force Turkey into something or affect Turkey's independent foreign policy. The Armenia issue is only a pretext, which is a card in the hands of big states," he said. He noted that Azerbaijan is facing a similar situation too.  "In 12 June 2015, the German parliament passed a resolution based on lies against Azerbaijan. They claimed that human rights are violated in Azerbaijan, which is clearly a lie," Ilham Aliyev said.  "Democracy is flourishing in Azerbaijan, whose people enjoy free access to the internet. How could freedom of speech be violated where there is free access to the Internet?  Azerbaijan ensures freedom of assembly. We see today how peaceful demonstrators are insulted in Europe." The head of state recalled that during the opening of the first-ever European Games in Baku the German parliament passed an anti-Azerbaijani resolution. "Those who adopted these resolutions against Azerbaijan and Turkey made a big historical and political mistake. The provocations devised against us showed that the only way we can be strong is through unity.  Turkey-Azerbaijan unity is a factor, which no one can deny," he said.
