Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze says her country is deeply concerned about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the minister, Georgia hopes that the ceasefire will be observed since the world "does not need another armed conflict," Georgia Online reports.
"I am certain that the leaders of the two states - Azerbaijan and Armenia -will manage to reach an agreement," she said.
Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are expected to meet in Sochi on 8-9 August.
It is noteworthy that there is upsurge in tensions in the Karabakh conflict zone. Azerbaijan made several sabotage attacks last week. Both the sides suffered casualties. Azerbaijan lost 25 soldiers. There were 5 deaths on the Armenian side.The U.S. Department of State, Russian Foreign Ministry, OSCE CiO as well as OSCE Minsk Group Co- Chairs expressed deep concern over escalating tensions and urge the parties to respect the ceasefire agreement and take steps to defuse tension.
