The situation on the Armenian-Azeri border and along the contact line between the Nagorno- Karabakh and Azeri troops continues to be tensed. The enemy can at any moment undertake sabotage attacks that may grow into large-scale military actions but the last few days have shown that there is no such threat for the time being, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said after a closed-door meeting with the leaders of the parliamentary forces on Monday.
"It is Azerbaijan that is responsible for growing tensions and human casualties. Our authorities are doing their best to reduce the tensions," Ohanyan said. He said that there is no need to send volunteers to the frontline as Armenian army has proved its efficiency in rebuffing the enemy's attacks.
As a result of their attacks July 28-Aug 2 the Azeris lost 25 soldiers, 30 were wounded. The Armenians lost 5 soldiers, 7 were wounded.
