Leader of Prosperous Armenian Party Gagik Tsarukyan said in an interview that retention of power in Armenia is inadmissible. It is for the first time that PAP makes such statement, which is welcome, indeed, said Levon Zurabyan, Head of the Armenian National Congress Faction in the Parliament briefed in the Parliament, Friday.
He said cooperation of the four non-coalition parties comes to the forefront, as the situation has changed today. As for Tsarukyan's statement that the format of the four parties may be replaced by cooperation of two forces, Zurabyan said he sees no preconditions or reason for "the format of the four parties" to collapse.
"PAP representatives have repeatedly hinted in their public statements and during our meetings that they take this cooperation very seriously," Zurabyan said.
A member of PAP Vahe Hovhannisyan also said that Party is determined to continue the cooperation in the format of the four non-governmental forces and recommended interpreting Tsarukyan's work within the context of his interview. The leader spoke of a theoretical possibility for the four-party format to turn into a bilateral cooperation format, Hovhannisyan explained. "The four-party cooperation is effective so far, and Tsarukyan said the same," Hovhannisyan said.
To recall, Gagik Tsarukyan said in his latest interview that retention of power is inadmissible by the authorities in power. He announced a start of large-scale political consultations and meetings in the regions of Armenia.
"If the cooperation in the four-party format (PAP, ANC, ARFD, Heritage) fails, PAP will continue the consultations in a bilateral format," Tsarukyan said.
