ArmInfo.Azerbaijanis destroyed a 13th-century Armenian khachkar in the village of Tsar in the Shaumyan region of occupied Artsakh. This was reported by the Scientific Research Center of Historical and Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Education of Armenia.
"According to footage on social networks, the Azerbaijanis destroyed a memorial complex in the village dedicated to the memory of the Armenian soldiers who died during the Artsakh War. A khachkar dating back to 1224 was also destroyed," the Center said in a statement.
Notably, after the capture of Artsakh, Azerbaijan began to erase the Armenian trace on the occupied Armenian lands. Churches, centuries-old cemeteries, and cultural heritage sites of world significance are destroyed, and the identity of those objects that are not destroyed is distorted. All this is happening against the backdrop of inaction, including from international specialized organizations.
