ArmInfo. The Armenian delegation headed by Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan visited the Iranian company ETKA.
The press office of the Armenian Defense Ministry has told ArmInfo that Sargsyan met with Ali Akbar Velayati, the senior foreign policy advisor to the Spiritual Leader of Iran. The interlocutors praised the level of the Armenian-Iranian cooperation and expressed confidence that it is a good prerequisite for further promotion of the bilateral partnership. Velayati noted that Armenia and Iran are already effectively cooperating in economy. He hopes Sargsyan's visit will give a fresh impetus to defense cooperation as well.
The meeting covered issues related to bilateral and multilateral agenda. Sargsyan and Velayati share the opinion that new hotspots of tension endanger regional security and that it is necessary to join efforts to prevent the spread of terrorism and radicalism.
The sides also touched on the Karabakh conflict and stressed that there is no military solution to the problem and that the conflict can be settled by means of peace talks only. On Feb 2 evening the Armenian delegation returned to Yerevan.
