The future of the old terminal of Zvartnots Airport depends on the Armenian Government, CEO of Armenia International Airports Marcelo Vende told journalists on Saturday.
He said that this problem is still being discussed. "We are inspecting the building so as to find a possible solution," Vende said, noting that in any case the building cannot serve the airport's needs.
The old terminal of Zvartnots Airport was built in 1980. In 2002 Armenia International Airports, a company owned by Argentinean businessmen Eduardo Eurnekian, was given 30-year concession over the airport
Last year Armenia International Airports announced that it was not going to waste time and money on the old terminal. In Nov 2013 the Public Council of Armenia urged the Government to dismiss the company's proposal to destroy the building.
