Speaking of the prospects of the Eurasian Economic Union, a bipolar world, and other absurdities of the Kremlin is possible only if one can say for sure if Russia will be the same as it is today in 10 years," Aydos Sarim, Kazakh political expert, said in response to ArmInfo's question in an online press conference.
"Smart people, economists, people informed more than I, of course, speak of the preferences, negative consequences of Kazakhstan's EEU membership. Meanwhile, no one has true information. No one! The state statistics is poor, unreliable, in our countries. Therefore, there is much space for such charlatans as Sergey Glazyev and others to act," he said.
The Kazakh political expert is sure that serious countries will not join the EEU, but they may pretend doing it, ask for loans and settle their problems. In this light, they do not recommend expecting much from the Union that will "die soon."
He is sure that Kazakhstan does not need Armenia, as the latter can give it nothing and the two countries have no common border. The commodity turnover is a statistical error, and there is almost no investing in Armenia.
"I can understand Armenia, which is in rather difficult a situation, surrounded with unfriendly states. Your leadership perceives Russia as the only means to survive," he said.
The expert is sure that Armenia keeps afloat just thanks to the Russian arms.
The online press conference was organized as part of the project of the "Region" Research Center "Urgent Dialogues for Armenia Media" and is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Armenia.
