The Armenian National Assembly delegation comprising parliamentarians Samvel Farmanyan, Naira Karapetyan, Levon Martirosyan, Arman Sahakyan, Tevan Poghosyan and Edmon Marukyan left Damascus for Latakia to meet with the Armenians of Kessab who have found refuge there having fled from their town after attacks by Turkish terrorists.

In Latakia Armenian MPs met with the Armenian refuges from Kessab, expressed them the solidarity of the Armenian people and assured them that the leadership of Armenia is ready to render them any assistance and the diplomatic offices of Armenia have already been given relevant charges.  The parliamentarian said that diplomatic officers of Armenia intend to once again draw the attention of the international community at the problems of Armenians of Kessab and at the inadmissible actions by Turkish armed bands.

The Armenian parliamentarians will return to Damascus again to meet with Syrian president Bashar al - Assad to discuss the problems of local Armenians.

The Armenian parliamentary delegation left for Syria to get first hand view of the situation in the town of Kessab and adjacent settlements. After returning they will present the situation to the National Assembly to develop effective steps to settle the problems of Syrian Armenians.

Earlier, at the Nuclear Security Summit in Hague, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan condemned Turkey's actions in Kessab. Armenian political forces made relevant statements as well.
