"The perceptions of tolerance by Ilham Aliyev and the rest of the civilized world are different", said Eduard Sharmazanov, Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Spokesman for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
Earlier this week Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said that his country is famous for its religious and ethnic tolerance. Sharmazanov thinks that it is at least strange to hear such statements from the man, who demolishes the ancient Armenian khachkars (cross-stones) in Jugha, glorifies the murderer Ramil Safarov and makes Armenophobia its national ideology.
"As early as 1928 Adolf Hitler stated that his movement was Christian, but we saw what disaster that "Christian movement" led to. Perhaps, as Hitler's movement was Christian, so the authorities of Azerbaijan are tolerant", Sharmazanov said.
