UWC Dilijan is being built on landslides and may crash down at any moment, claims Ruben Yadoyan, Head of Engineer Geologist LLC. He told media Friday that no anti-landslide measures have been taken yet.
Dilijan International School of Armenia will open in September 2014 for 90 students. By 2023 UWC Diijan is expected to have 650 students from 60 countries.
Yadoyan said that developers were informed of the danger yet before construction activities. UWC Dilijan is not the only facility built in the area of landslides. He outlined the Art House of Dilijan belonging to the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia. The State Revenue Committee of Armenia bought it to create an educational center. "We provided our recommendations, but developers ignored them," he said. The buildings built by the Central Bank in Dilijan are in a worse state. There are three landslide areas in Dilijan. "Anti-landslide measures are rather expensive, indeed, but human lives are in danger," he said.
