During the Friday rally our opposition leaders said nothing sensational or
extraordinary, Spokesman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, Vice
Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov told ArmInfo on Saturday.
"Levon Ter-Petrosyan's stories were the most
juicy part of the rally. Perhaps he
realized that he was no longer able to entertain the people with prosaic
speeches, so, he decided to do such an eccentric thing," Sharmazanov said.
Concerning the long-awaited speech of the leader of
Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan, Sharmazanov said that there was
nothing remarkable in it. "He just said that we need no Maidans and must
not hurry," Sharmazanov said.
Meanwhile, during his speech on Friday Tsarukyan
stressed the need to change the ruling regime and to hold mid-term elections.
"We are in power as a result of fair elections
and will be there till the end of our term. All international observed
confirmed that our victory was fair. I see nothing new in the opposition's
calls for change of government. They have done this for 23 years already,"
Sharmazanov said.
