Fatih Akin's "The Cut" will be screened in Armenia and Russia starting from Feb 19, producer Ruben Dishdishyan has told ArmInfo's correspondent. 

He says that the film will be demonstrated throughout Russia, including Moscow. 

The Director of the film is a German filmmaker of Turkish origin Fatih Akin. This film received the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival Award - Special Mention at the Venice Film Festival. 

The press conference with the participation of the Director of the film Fatih Akin, co- author of the screenplay Martik Mardin, actress Arevik Martirosyan, co-producers Ruben Dishdishyan and Aram Movsesyan will be organized after the private screening of the film. 

The actions of the film take place in 1915 during the Armenian Genocide. The main hero Nazareth Manukyan loses his family, and years later he learns that his twin daughters may be alive and goes to find them.

The shooting of the drama "The Cut" began in 2013 and took place in Jordan, Germany, Cuba and Malta. The budget of the film is 15.5 million euros; its duration is 138 minutes.  Film producers of Armenian origin Ruben Dishdishyan and Aram Movsesyan have also participated in the process of preparation of this picture.

The Sate Committee Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has also shown financial support to the creation of this film.
The film stars Arsine Khanjyan, Simon Abgaryan, Arevik Martirosyan, Akin Gazi, and the main character played French actor of Algerian descent Tahar Rahim, who is distinguished by his role in Jacques Audiard's film "The Prophet".

The screenplay was written by the Director Fatih Akin and Martik Mardin, who has also written screenplays for the films of Martin Scorsese.
This film summarizes the trilogy of Fatih Akin "Love, death and evil". It was the director's first big international project. 7 countries - Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Poland, Turkey and Russia have participated in the production of this film.
