The Armenian authorities are open to inform wide layers of the society about all the details of the Armenian-Russian gas agreements, National Assembly Vice-Speaker, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Press Secretary Eduard Sharmazanov told reporters today when commenting on the opposition's accusation that the authorities hide "fearful" details of the Armenian-Russian agreements.
He said that the authorities have nothing to hide regarding the gas agreements with Russia and the leadership of the country is ready to the public discussion of these documents,
He also added that criticism of the opposition in this matter is groundless. The natural gas agreements with the Russian side have enabled to make the gas price become predictable until 2018 and to avoid a price hike. "If at present we pay 40-60 thsd AMD monthly for gas, if we did not make the last gas agreement, we would pay 100-150 thsd AMD", - Sharmazanov concluded.
To note, the last "gas" agreement with Russia, according to which Russia has become the owner of the 100% shares of "ArmRusgasprom", caused the stormy displeasure of the Armenian society and the opposition political forces.
