Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry calls U.S. Ambassador on the carpet

 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to the Republic of Azerbaijan Richard L. Morningstar has been called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. 

APA has learnt from diplomatic sources that the ambassador was reprimanded for his expressions made in an interview with "Azadlig" radio. The ambassador's statements are regarded as interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, which is unacceptable, they in the Ministry said.  The ambassador was informed that such steps do not correspond to the spirit of relations between the two countries and the norms of diplomatic activity.

The U.S. Embassy's press service told APA that ambassador was not called to the Foreign Ministry.

To recall, Morningstar said in the above interview that Azerbaijan might face Ukraine's fate if the Azerbaijani authorities make repressions.
