За занавесом <конспиративной встречи> Джона Хефферна с армянскими парламентариями

Практически все вопросы внутриполитической и внешнеполитической
повестки Армении были обсуждены в ходе состоявшейся накануне в армянском  парламенте 2,5 часовой конспиративной
встречи посла США в РА Джона Хефферна с членами комиссии по внешним вопросам.


 


Как
сообщил в беседе с корреспондентом АрмИнфо принимавший участие во встрече
депутат от Республиканской партии Самвел Никоян, речь зашла и об интеграции
Армении в Евразийский экономический союз, в связи с чем Хефферн подчеркнул, что
Вашингтон уважает выбор Армении, и об экономической ситуации, и об
армяно-американском сотрудничестве и о региональных процессах.


 


Как
заверил Никоян, в ходе встречи посол не затронул инциденты последних дней,
связанные с поджогом машин армянских оппозиционеров и с избиением одного из
них.


 


Зато
особое внимание было уделено перспективам открытия абхазского участка железной
дороги, связывающей Армению с Россией. В этой связи американский посол
подчеркнул, что приветствует любые возможности по разблокированию коммуникаций
Армении, и будет очень хорошо, если абхазский участок железной дороги будет
вновь задействован, поскольку это приведет к оживлению армянской экономики, и,
как результат, экономической ситуации региона в целом.


 


Отметим,
что вопрос возобновления работы абхазского участка железной дороги, связывающей
Армению с Россией через Абхазию и Грузию, актуализировался после
соответствующего заявления президента РФ Владимира Путина при подписании
договора по союзничеству и стратегическому партнерству между Москвой и Сухуми.
В этой связи Путин, в частности, подчеркнул: <Считаем возможным вместе с
другими партнёрами подумать и при общем согласии реализовать такой проект,
например, как транзитное железнодорожное сообщение в направлении Сухуми,
Тбилиси и далее, с одной стороны на Армению, с другой стороны на Россию>.


 


Примечательно,
что Госдеп США подверг резкой критике подписанный между Москвой и Сухуми
договор, подчеркнув, что признает территориальную целостность Грузии и, заявив,
что подобные документы лишь эскалируют ситуацию в регионе.  Тбилиси также заявил, что вопрос открытия
абхазского участка ж\д может решиться лишь с его позволения.
