The stage of uncertainty in the Armenia-EU relations is overcome, Karen Bekaryan, Head of the European Integration NGO, told reporters, Tuesday.
It is anticipated that the EU will authorize a group of its negotiators to launch negotiations for a new legal document between Armenia and the EU before or at the Riga Summit in May, Bekaryan said.
"I think, this will happen soon. At least, there are no obstacles to that process," he said.
As for the Armenia-EU cooperation, Bekaryan pointed at the documents on the Armenian Genocide passed by a range of European organizations. All those documents call for consistent policy towards condemnation and recognition of the Armenian Genocide, he said. Furthermore, Bekaryan made a point of the resolution by the European People's Party that calls on Turkey to immediately normalize the relations with Armenia without preconditions, open the border and compensate for the Genocide aftermaths.
