Armenia has fulfilled all the energy-related requirements for joining the Customs Union, Armenia's Deputy Energy and Natural Resources Minister Iosif Isayan said in an interview to ArmInfo.
He said that Armenia is committed to join both the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union as this integration will offer excellent opportunities to its energy system. "Our current isolation keeps us away from these advantages," Isayan said.
He hopes that Armenia will join the Customs Union by the end of 2014. On Sept 3 2013 Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia was committed to join the Customs Union. Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Sargsyan's decision and expressed readiness to help him in the matter.
