BORIS GRYZLOV: FRIENDSHIP OF RUSSIA AND ARMENIA A GREAT BLESSING FOR
CAUCASUS
YEREVAN, JANUARY 21. ARMINFO. The forthcoming Year of Armenia in
Russia will make the two peoples even more intimate, RF State Duma
Chairman Boris Gryzlov told journalists, on 20 January. The speaker
said the stability and security of the whole Caucasus much depends on
the Russian-Armenian relations. In this connection, the present
active inter-parliamentary dialogue becomes especially important, B.
Gryzlov said. "In November 2005, we ratified an agreement on
promotion and mutual protection of investments, which was very
important for improvement of the legal base to expand bilateral
investments," he said. The prospective directions of cooperation of
Russia and Armenia is energy, law enforcement and military-technical
sphere, science and culture.
To note, the year 2005 was celebrated in Armenia as a Year of Russia.
The ceremonial opening of the Year of Armenia in RF will take place
at the Great Kremlin Palace on 22 January. Armenian President Robert
Kocharyan will visit Moscow on this occasion.
